Where to watch FA Cup Final in San Francisco (and beyond)!

As most Gooners are hopefully aware, Arsenal play Chel$ki in the FA Cup Final on Saturday, May 27, 2017 at 9:30AM PT

And while the Memorial Day weekend scheduling is poor for U.S. Arsenal fans, our home pub of Maggie McGarry’s is expected to get a good crowd. Recent FA Cup Finals have been filled to overflowing (the photo above is from the 2014 Final).

So where in San Francisco to watch?  Here are the best choices for watching in San Francisco (in order of suitability for Gooners). Further down the page are options for the South Bay, East Bay, and North Bay.

Maggie McGarry’s Irish Pub
1353 Grant Avenue
San Francisco, 94133

Maggie’s has been the home pub of the Bay Area Gooners for almost 12 years now and is likely to be a popular spot for the final. 21+ only. No food served, Outside food is OK, but no outside drinks (not even coffee or water bottles). No dogs please.

San Francisco Athletic Club
1750 Divisadero Street
San Francisco, CA 94115

The SFAC has served as the Bay Area Gooners annex in the past and will be open for the match. They are all-ages and have a full kitchen.

Abbey Tavern
4100 Geary Street
San Francisco, CA 94118

One of San Francisco’s longest running football pubs. 21+ only.  They do not serve food.

Kezar Pub
770 Stanyan Street
San Francisco, CA 94117

Another of San Francisco’s oldest football pubs, Kezar is the home of LFCSF, is all-ages, and has a full kitchen.

Danny Coyle’s
668 Haight Street
San Francisco, CA 94117

Known as the home of SFSpurs, but until very recently, you’d often find more neighborhood Gooners there than anyone else. 21+ and they do not serve food.

Mad Dog in the Fog
530 Haight Street
San Francisco, CA 94117

Kezar’s sister pub, home and another long-time San Francisco footy pub. 21+ and they serve food. Don’t really recommend for Gooners as it is home to a Chel$ki supporters group.

SOUTH BAY
If you are in the San Jose, Silicon Valley area and do not wish to trek to San Francisco, we recommend watching with our spin-off group, South Bay Gooners at Jack’s Bar.

EAST BAY
While we do have some of our members attempting to organize an East Bay Gooners spin-off, they do not yet have a location that opens for all matches. However, their usual meeting spot, Overland will be open for the match!

NORTH BAY
One of Arsenal America’s newest branches, the North Bay Gooners will be watching at Sweet Spot in Santa Rosa.

Getting Around

A New Season! A Second Venue!

Arsenal FC kick off the 2015-2016 season this weekend against Chelsea FC in the Community Shield match.

And as we have for the past 7 (8?) years, we’ll be at Maggie McGarry’s in North Beach, cheering the Gunners on!

If our home pub has one drawback, it’s that Maggie’s is 21 and over only.  Every season we field inquiries from local and visiting Gooners wanting to bring younger supporters to our match-viewings. Thus, we’re continuing an experiment we started with last season’s FA Cup Final.

Beginning with this weekend’s match, the San Francisco Athletic Club will be open for every Arsenal match beginning 7AM PT or later.  Because the SFAC has a full kitchen, they can welcome Gooners of all ages.

SFAC’s will be flying the Bay Area Gooners banner, while breakfast and drink specials for BAG members will be available.
